Alt-soul band based in Los Angeles, CA. We blend the genres of soul, alternative, pop, and rock with meaningful topics. Like your favorite cereal, the music stays crunchy in the milk.

Rush the Throne formed in October of 2012. Originally, the band started under the name of the lead singer but it was something all its own. As the band played more shows and began to record their debut album, they thought "damn, we really need a name." After names such as Vile Vicar and Vermicious Vagabonds being thrown around, the band agreed on Rush the Throne. Indeed, when you gotta go, you gotta go right? Really though, it's a metaphor representing the idea that you don't need to let someone have power/rule over you. Make things happen and Rush the Throne if you have to.

The band is currently promoting their debut album and playing shows around Los Angeles and Orange County.

Che Zifandel - born in Denver, CO. Spent several years rapping and also playing violin and piano. Spent time running with "the wrong crowd." Moved on, studied music business and music engineering, moved to L.A. Tried the acting thing, realized her first love is music, started doing acoustic shows, and eventually met Mike and Watts.

Watts Yoshizawa - a funk drummer opening up from the local Goth scene. She's a former accordion player and break-dancer turned certified yoga enthusiast.

Mike Georgia - guitarist who walks the line between artiest and artist. Self taught engineer by necessity, instrumental music producer and guitar instructor.

Blend up the vocals of Tracy Chapman, Sade, and James Brown then put it over soulful drums, pop bass, and some rock guitar and you've got the sound of Rush the Throne. The music is Soul-pop alternative. It's catchy but edgy & touches on subjects from mortality and beyond.
